A spectacular celebration of country life returns to Drumlanrig Castle & Country Estate this summer, on Saturday 8th & Sunday 9th August 2026, as Galloway Country Fair once again transforms the magnificent grounds of Drumlanrig into a vibrant showcase of rural pursuits, family entertainment, country sports, shopping, food and drink.
With a jam-packed programme of high-octane stunt displays and charioteering, to dog shows, cookery demos, and live music, this year's Fair is set to be the biggest and best yet, with exciting new attractions, shopping, family-friendly entertainment and evening entertainment.
Leading the Main Ring programme are the spectacular displays from OG Performance Horses, stepping back in time for a gladiator-inspired thrilling chariot action, bringing the spirit of the ancient games to life. Visitors can also enjoy thrilling demonstrations from Paul Hannam's Quad Bike Display Team, the ever-popular Falconry Display, and the highly entertaining Come Bye Sheepdog Display.
Saturday's event will be officially opened by the Buccleuch & Queensberry Pipe Band before the unmistakable sounds of Drums N Roses bring energy and excitement to the showground. On Sunday, the popular Dog Show returns, offering classes and competitions for canine companions of all shapes and sizes.
Across the showground there is even more to discover. Meet the magnificent Blackstone Clydesdales, explore the fascinating displays from Dumfries & Galloway Vintage Machinery, test your aim at the archery range, enjoy face painting, or get up close with exotic creatures at Crazy Critter Encounters.
Country sports enthusiasts can take part in the Clay Pigeon Shooting competition, proudly sponsored by Roxtons Field Sports, with a shotgun prize generously provided by Game & Country. The popular Gundog Scurry returns, alongside Hoopers – the fast-growing agility-style dog sport where visitors can have a go for free.
Families will find endless entertainment in the expanded Kids Zone, sponsored by Reigart. From mini quad bikes, bouncy castles, mini army assault courses and bubble football to climbing walls and archery, there is something for every young adventurer. For a small additional charge, children can also enjoy the giant 30-foot inflatable fun course, teacup rides, bumper cars and bungee trampolines. The Ferris Wheel will once again offer spectacular views across the estate.
Food lovers will be spoiled for choice in the Craft & Food Marquee, proudly sponsored by Lloyd Ltd. The fully booked marquee will showcase an exceptional selection of artisan producers, makers and craftspeople from across Scotland and beyond. The Galloway Demo Kitchen will serve up a feast of local flavours, with live demonstrations throughout the day. Expect to see local supplier showcases in action.
