Bulgaria: Grain and Feed Market Update
In marketing year (MY) 2022/23, Bulgaria expects to harvest a corn crop of 2.8 million metric tons (MMT), 18 percent lower than in MY 2021/22. The decrease can be attributed to nine percent decline in area planted, yields severely impacted by the summer drought and heat, and higher pest infestation. Winter grains had better results due to more favorable weather and are estimated at 6.3 MMT of wheat and 640,000 MT of barley, however, the crops are 13 and 10 percent lower than in MY 2021/22, respectively. Increasing production costs, inflation and softening prices in the Black Sea region, are the main concerns for the farmers.
European Union: Oilseeds and Products Update
This report updates several sections of the European Union's "Oilseeds and Products Annual" report released in April 2022. Updated sections include soybean, rapeseed, and sunflower. Increased areas of about 10 percent for all three major oilseeds but lower average yields for sunflower, and rapeseed are forecast to result in a total of about 3 percent higher production in MY 2022/23. The ongoing Russian invasion of the Ukraine, high and volatile prices for input and products, as well as hot and dry conditions in many regions of the EU cause significant uncertainties regarding future developments.

This report provides a road map for exporters wishing to enter the Peruvian foodservice market and how to understand the key distribution channels for foods and beverages destined for food service
Thailand: Sugar Semi-annual
Sugar production recovered to normal levels of around 10 million metric tons in MY2021/22 and is likely to further increase by 3 percent in MY2022/23. Sugar production, however, remains far below record production levels due to limited acreage. Sugar exports will likely more than double in MY2021/22 and further increase to 11 million metric tons in MY2022/23 due to larger exportable supplies of sugar and strong demand in Southeast Asia. Domestic sugar consumption is likely to slowly grow in line with the economic recovery.
