First Milk announces member meetings

First Milk members have been urged to attend a series of meetings organised to discuss recent price cuts and the delayed January payment.

On Thursday, the NFU urged members of the cooperative to attend the meetings.

Meetings will take place in Scotland, the Midlands and Cumbria. The meetings are member-only events, and written invitations have already been sent out to producers.

A statement from First Milk, which appeared on the group's website reads, "The First Milk Board will be running a series of meetings with members this week and next, ensuring every member has an opportunity to discuss last week's announcement with their leadership team. Members with any queries should contact their local area rep, farm enterprise team member, or Board member."

Commenting on the announcement, NFU dairy board chair Rob Harrison said, "Following First Milk's announcement last week, it is important that members with queries attend these meetings for clarification on any issues. The NFU continues to support its dairy members during this terribly difficult period."
