Fertiliser Market Report: Urea prices at year lows
Calum Findlay, Gleadell’s fertiliser manager, comments on the fertiliser markets
Granular urea
In the UK, the recent dip in prices has meant that growers are picking up product at the lowest values seen this year.
Across Europe, shorts have been covered. However, there is still a large requirement for further tonnes as the market remains behind previous years.
Globally, granular urea markets have stabilised and look set to remain this way until seasonal demand returns in January.
Ammonium nitrate
Demand for CF product has improved. However, the company remains aggressively priced with the intention of moving product in the next fortnight.
Initial indications are that December terms will be pulled on the 18 December and prices look set to firm for January delivery to reflect a firmer European market.
Long-holders of imported AN are moving through stock and prices are likely to follow a similar price trend to UK product in the New Year.
