Fertiliser Market Report: AN prices remain below European values
Calum Findlay, Gleadell’s fertiliser manager, comments on the markets
Nitrogen
CF released new terms this week for spot and Oct delivery, which increased by £5/t for AN and nitrogen sulphurs. Prices remain significantly below European values.
Globally, granular urea markets have been quiet this week. UK levels remain unchanged as most growers focus on harvest.
UAN
Terms remain extremely attractive compared to other nitrogen sources. Many growers are taking advantage of this and securing autumn tank-fill requirements.
Prices are expected to begin to firm in line with other nitrogen markets, so our advice remains to book requirements sooner rather than later.
NPK/PK
Despite several rises to nitrogen prices, we had not seen a realignment in CF’s NPK compound range until now. The new levels reflect the overall increase in raw material costs.
PK and straight prices are unchanged this week as blenders compete for tonnes in a market which is yet to build momentum.
Interest in alternative PK fertilisers continues to grow as cost-saving options compared to bagged fertilisers. Gleadell can offer a full range of ash-based products available for spreading onto stubble this autumn.
