In a trade meeting last week, Norway agreed to fully liberalise an additional 20 per cent of EU farm exports, worth €250 million, from 1st January 2012 following on from a bilateral deal signed in April. Once the new arrangement comes into effect, approximately 60 per cent of basic agricultural goods will be able to circulate freely between the EU and Norway. Norway will also offer the EU a tariff quota on cheese, currently set at 2,700 tonnes.
