English Farmland Market values rose in 2010

English Farmland Market values continued to rise in the final quarter of 2010, with both equipped and bare land values rising for the second quarter in a row. Values for both types of land have increased now for four consecutive quarters demonstrating that farmland continues to perform well as an asset class.

There is still a shortage of land for sale, with fewer acres offered to the market in England compared with markets for 2008 and 2009.

Farmer purchasers continue to be the most active in the market with lifestyle buyers and investors also showing strong interest.
