Dairy Crest reduces milk price for February 2018

“Although this news will not come as a surprise, I do understand that it will not be welcomed by our Davidstow farmers. Nevertheless, it is necessary to ensure that our products remain competitive and we are pleased that Dairy Crest continues to pay a leading price,” commented Chris Thomson, Group Procurement Director at Dairy Crest. “We were pleased to be able to hold our milk price in January, but the softening market means that this reduction is now necessary. We remain committed, as ever, to supporting our farmers and paying them a fair price for the high quality milk they supply to us.”
DCD Chairman, Steve Bone, said: “We are disappointed with this price reduction, but we do recognise markets have moved down. We will continue to work with Dairy Crest on behalf of our members to limit the impact of the current market situation on core milk price.”
