Dairy Crest follows trend & announces milk price drop for April 2018

Chris Thomson, Group Procurement Director at Dairy Crest, said, “Although disappointing news for our farmers, Dairy Crest is committed to paying a fair market related price. Once again this move is lower, and effected later, than those of many other dairy companies.

“As the market changes, we must ensure that our products remain competitive. We will continue to monitor price movements but remain committed to paying a fair milk price to all of our Davidstow farmers.”

DCD Chairman, Steve Bone, said: “We always negotiate with our members’ best interests at heart. Against a backdrop of significant competitor activity, we have mitigated the reduction to the best of our ability.”

This follows on from similar price drops by Muller,Arla & First Milk. Barber's has also just announced a 1ppl drop due to "mounting competitor market pressure".
