Dairy Crest applauded for its green credentials
Dairy Crest has been commended in this year’s Carbon Disclosure Project report making it the first UK dairy company to be named in the prestigious Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index.
Complied by PriceWaterHouseCoopers, the Index, which only discloses companies that have displayed the most professional approach to corporate governance in respect of climate change disclosure practices, awarded Dairy Crest a score of 79%. The result means the dairy company is ranked as the fourth best company in the Consumer Staples category behind FTSE 100 companies Reckitt Benckiser, Tesco and Unilever.
JUGIT wins applause
Dairy Crest’s appearance in the Carbon Disclosure Leadership List follows the publishing of their in-depth corporate responsibility report available on their website which makes public their long and short-term corporate responsibility targets and also contains an candid appraisal of their achievements to date. Highlights in the report include the progress made by JUGIT, the environmentally friendly milk bag and the building of the largest biomass boiler outside of a power station at their Davidstow creamery, which will reduce the company’s carbon emissions by 12%.
