Dairy Co. Has released its annual Dairy Statistics: An insider's guide 201, which is available to order or download from the Dairy Co. Website.

The handbook is produced each year and provides answers to the most frequently asked questions about the dairy industry in the UK and the rest of the world. 

The 2011 edition reveals a year-on-year increase of 1.51ppl in the UK average farmgate milk price in 2010/11. Also of note is the increase in UK wholesale prices between 2009 and 2010. Butter, SMP, mild Cheddar and mature Cheddar UK wholesale prices all increased by 31per cent, 21per cent, 8per cent and 2per cent between the two years.

There was also an increase in the UK advertising expenditure on yogurts of 29per cent between the 2009/10 and 2010/11 milk years.
