CropMonitor App reloaded shows disease risk at T1
The daily updates for wheat disease risk is now based on observations of disease levels at nine key trial sites across England. The daily forecasts based on met office data and the disease level observations for susceptible, moderatley susceptible and resistant varieties at the trial sites can be viewed in the app.
The ‘App’ uses data from the CropMonitor information service combined with daily weather data to alert users to disease risks of the four major foliar diseases of wheat – Septoria, powdery mildew, brown rust and yellow rust.

The app uses GPS technology to pinpoint user location and then provides local disease forecasts drawn from the closest trials and weather stations. The App currently carries live data from wheat disease monitoring but is expected to expand further to cover other crops in the future.
The app now in its fourth year was developed by Farming Online and The Food and Environment Research Agency.
