Beware wind chill taking its toll on lambs

The drop in temperature to around 1Deg C combined with long lost rainfall is lowering the wind chill and taking its toll on lambing with one farmer in Leicestershire seeing nearly 30 lambs die from exposure suddenly.

With lambs being born into near mediterranean temperatures, within a few days are now having to endure a drop in temperature of 20degrees and combined with the rainfall making difficult conditions for lambs in exposed areas survive.

Tonight Farming Online learned of Lambs in the Leicestershire being brought back inside after 5 deaths from just 6 ewes turned out.
