Berrys Secures Govt Funding to Offer Free One-to-One Advice to Farmers & Landowners

Farmers and landowners can receive free one-to-one advice from leading business consultants Berrys as part of Defra’s Future Farming Resilience Fund.

More than £10.5m has been awarded to 19 organisations to support farmers and land managers during the Agricultural Transition Period, as the UK leaves the EU.

The support will be available, free of charge, from August this year through to March 2022 and any farmer or land manager currently in receipt of BPS is eligible to apply.

Due to the cap on the Future Farming Resilience Fund, Berrys is encouraging farmers and landowners to get in touch now to secure their funding for the free business advice.

Berrys Business Consultant Will Davies said: “We are delighted to have been selected as one of the organisations to help offer advice to farmers and landowners during this transition period.

“Through the Future Farming Resilience Fund, we will be offering free one-to-one business advice including a business report, with recommendations and opportunity for a follow-up consultation,” he said.

Mr Davies continued: “It is vital during this seven-year transition period, at the end of which, BPS payments will cease to exist, farmers and landowners take stock of their businesses and understand the implications not having these support payments will have.

“We want to help farmers and landowner’s future-proof their businesses by identifying the opportunities that exist and by making the most of the assets they have. The tailored support we will offer will help them become more resilient and competitive and ensure they will continue to operate profitably,” Mr Davies said.

Free advice will be available from business experts operating out of the following Berrys offices: Shrewsbury, Kettering, Hereford, Towcester and Oxford.
