BEIC Announces New Chief Executive

Following a rigorous search process, the British Egg Industry Council is pleased to announce the appointment of Nick Allen as Chief Executive, effective 7 April 2025. Allen will take over from acting Chief Executive Mark Williams, who will resume his role as Chairman when Allen takes up the post.

Prior to joining the BEIC, Allen was CEO of Berry Gardens Limited, having previously served as the Finance and Operations Director and, before that, as the Finance Director. Allen led the sale of Berry Gardens Limited to Driscoll's Inc. in October 2022 and subsequently managed the integration process as UK General Manager. Allen has extensive expertise and knowledge in strategic planning, highly developed leadership skills and a proven track record in advocating for and engaging stakeholders in the farming and commercial sectors.
Mark Williams says: "We are delighted that Nick is coming on board at the BEIC. His extensive background and strategic vision will be invaluable as we continue to represent the best interests of our members and ensure the British Lion Code remains the envy of egg producers around the world. We are confident that under his leadership, the British Egg Industry Council will go from strength to strength."
Nick Allen says: "I'm very excited to take on this new role. It is clear to me that the industry is committed to its world-leading farm assurance scheme. I hope that my passion for UK food and farming together with my expertise in the sector can bring a new perspective and futureproof British Lion eggs for the industry and its customers."
