Baa Grylls: Ram found after wandering on Tasmania for six years
Two farmers from Tasmania have found a ram they believe has been wandering wild for several years without being shorn.
"He couldn’t see very well because of the hair because of the wool over his face," said Peter Hazell, one of the pair who found the merino ram wandering on their land on the Island of Tasmania. The ram was tagged by a farm on the East coast, but the two farmers from Central Tasmania have said they plan to shear the animal themselves.
The ram, now named Shaun, has been taken back to the Hazell's farm. His coat is estimated to weigh over 20kg. The Hazells said they were amazed that Shaun was in such good health when they found him, and have been equally surprised by the quality of his wool.
A video of Shaun is available from the BBC
