Arla holds milk price for December
Arla’s price for conventional milk will remain unchanged in December at 32.30 pence for the conventional manufacturing litre.This reflects the recent announcements from First Milk,Muller & Barbers stating that their prices will remain unchanged. However Dairy Crest will increase the milk price it pays to its Davidstow farmers by 0.5ppl* to 32ppl.

Commenting on the reason behind the decision to hold the price for December, Johnnie Russell, Arla Foods amba board director, said: “Commodity market prices have continued to fall over recent weeks, in particular European yellow cheese markets.
“Skimmed milk powder continues to trade at below intervention prices although there is some short-term stability in the run up to Christmas.”
