Two officers in the car allegedly received minor injuries when their vehicle was rammed into a side road by a Teleporter, though neither required medical attention.

The officers had been investigating reports of two suspicious vehicles, one driving without lights, when the incident happened on Long Lane near the village of Gamlingay.

Having rammed the officers' car, the Teleporter driver left the vehicle and made off in a cream Mini Clubman, thought to have been travelling with the loading machine. A spokesperson for the force said police believe the Teleporter and mini drivers were preparing to take part in a ram raid when they bumped into the patrol car.

In the wake of the incident, the area was searched and the Teleporter recovered. The vehicle, primarily used for transporting hay bales, is now being examined by police.

Sergeant Paul Rogerson of Cambridgeshire police commented, "Both officers' welfare is in hand and neither required medical treatment. I believe these vehicles were due to commit a ram raid before officers were alerted. Therefore, I'd ask the residents in the surrounding villages to remain vigilant and report anything suspicious to police."
