Although harvest is later this year, comparing the first two weeks relative to the first arrivals for both barley & OSR provides a close indication of 2011 vs 2012....

The first validated results of 2011 arrived on the 09 Jul, 2012 validated results arrived nearly 2 weeks later.  Comparing the first 14 days of harvest for each year (comparing like for like) shows barley’s up 12% (7.04/7.88t/ha) while oilseed rape is down 8% (4.05/3.73t/ha).

Overall data submitted to the Harvest Results is significantly up with barley area submitted up 84% (1442/2654ha) and oilseed rape up 299% (940/3756ha).
