AHDB to host largest showcase at SIAL Paris 2022
AHDB will have its biggest presence at one of the largest and most respected food and drink trade fairs in the world this week.
SIAL Paris returns on Saturday, following two years of lockdowns and international travel restrictions, bringing over 310,000 visitors from more than 200 countries together under the one roof.
Held at the Parc des Expositions de Paris-Nord, the five-day event promises to be even bigger than previous years, with 7,200 exhibitors showcasing a variety of food and drink products from around the world.
And AHDB will play a major role in the exhibition, hosting its largest Quality Meat from Britain showcases of the year, alongside 11 red meat export companies, who will be flying the flag for beef, lamb and pork from the UK.
The dedicated space on the pavilion will allow levy paying exporters to meet international buyers and develop new opportunities in various international markets.
AHDB Head of Asia Pacific Jonathan Eckley said: "SIAL Paris attracts a truly global audience and is the perfect platform for our red meat exporters to showcase the high quality of beef, lamb and pork from the UK.
"We are expecting international buyers from as far as Southeast Asia, the Middle East and North America, alongside key buyers closer to home from high value EU markets, creating a wealth of potential opportunities for us to see our red meat enjoyed by more consumers around the globe."
While in Paris, AHDB will also host a British Meat Dinner for almost 300 people, including exporters and international clients, to allow guests to sample a selection of dishes featuring the quality red meat the UK has to offer.
Jonathan added: "We are excited to be heading back to Paris for what is a key event in our export calendar. We look forward to showcasing all that the UK has to offer, in terms of high quality, world-renowned food production standards and strong environmental credentials.
"This important event will allow us, and our exporters, the chance to engage with buyers from around the world, promoting the incredible work of our processors and farmers to a global audience."
