AHDB: Make better-informed breeding decisions - website
AHDB has launched an enhanced Dairy Genetics website, offering a more user-friendly experience and easier access to herd genetic information.
The digital platform is designed to assist dairy farmers and industry stakeholders and has gone live in June. Providing farmers with the tools and insights they need to improve productivity and drive innovation through data-driven decision making is another step forward in AHDB's commitment to help dairy farming businesses make informed decisions.
The updated version of the website offers a streamlined navigation and a range of new features within a modern design. Dairy farmers will now benefit from improved data accessibility, enhanced mobile compatibility, and a suite of new tools to help them make better-informed breeding decisions.
One notable improvement to benefit farmers is the integration of more advanced filtering and trait selection tools, allowing users to search for bulls or breeding females with greater precision. Navigation has also been simplified, with all pages now housed under a single, standalone website focused exclusively on genetics.
Additional content has been added to help users understand how to make the best use of genetics in their herd, while existing resources have been reviewed and updated. Levy payers will also have greater control over their data, with the ability to manage and revoke third-party access where required.
Dr Daniel Pitt, AHDB's Animal Genetics Manager, said: "Breeding choices are some of the most impactful decisions affecting farm profitability and genetics is key in ensuring you reach your breeding goals. We encourage all livestock farmers to log-in to the new website to explore their data. If you don't yet have an account, please register to take full advantage of the new features and improvements. If you experience any difficulties accessing the site, please don't hesitate to get in touch via dairy.breeding.evaluations@ahdb.org.uk."
