Agricultural waste could be used as biofuel


Students at the University of East Anglia have conducted research into creating biofuels that can provide renewable sources of fuel without competing with food production. Their findings pinpoint five strains of yeast capable of turning agricultural by-products, such as straw, sawdust and corncobs, into bioethanol - a well-known alcohol-based biofuel.
