Agri-TechE Reveals Exciting Lineup for REAP 2025
The annual Agri-TechE Conference will celebrate its 12th year in a new venue on 4th November in Peterborough. The one-day REAP Conference will feature leadership insights from Minette Batters, Defra’s Harley Stottart, and farmers and managers from Elveden, Overbury, Dennigton, Holkham. Plus, the ‘secret six’ start-ups revealed on the day.
With increasing pressures on finances, labour, resources, and land, continued growth requires collaboration across the industry. However, collaborating is more than simply working together; it’s about balance, co-creation, and learning to exist together. But how can we achieve this in a rapidly changing and dynamic industry?
Agri-TechE’s REAP 2025 Conference, on November 4th at the KingsGate Centre in Peterborough, aims to address the industry's pressing questions and offer solutions for its future.
The event will commence with a timely discussion from keynote speaker Minette Batters, farmer and member of the House of Lords.
“The Farm Profitability Review, which will be completed just days before REAP, follows extensive consultation across the industry, and I’ll have several conclusions and reflections to report. It’s a multi-faceted picture, but agri-tech has a vital role to play in building resilient, sustainable and profitable farms of the future, " says Minette.
Following thoughts from Minette Batters will be the insightful farmer panel, where leading farmers will share their perspectives on how technology and co-existence can be applied in real-world scenarios to create a profitable and sustainable business.
The panel will be chaired by AHDB’s Craig Patrick, and feature Ali Capper, from British Apples & Pears at Stocks Farm; Jake Freestone, Farm Manager at Overbury Enterprises; James Beamish, Director at Holkham Farming Community; and Laura Rous, 3rd generation farmer from Dennington Hall.
The next session will examine how scientific theory is applicable in real-world situations. In a ‘fireside chat’ format, chair Andrew Blenkiron, Managing Director of Elveden Farms, will discuss ongoing efforts within UK universities and research institutes.
It's a chance for researchers to be challenged, to ask questions and gain a deeper understanding of why research matters and how it relates to farmers in the field.
Meet the visionary innovators at the Start-Up Showcase as they present their ideas for the future of farming. The lineup for the REAP 2025 Start-Up Showcase is revealed on the day.
Alignment and co-developing innovative solutions for a secure future will be a constant theme throughout the day, and leaders from DEFRA, NIAB, and AGCO will be concluding the Conference by discussing how to tackle diverse demands.
Head of Climate Mitigation for DEFRA, Harley Stoddart, will reflect on the topic through a carbon lens, explaining how scientific theory shapes decisions in the field.
"I'm going to delve into why we do what we do, and the way we do it and how a view through the carbon lens can provide some thought-provoking perspectives to help answer this question,” says Mr Stoddart.
