An outbreak of African Swine Fever has been reported and confirmed in the Podlaskie region, in the east, of Poland. 

The notified case of African Swine Fever was reported in a wild boar which is now dead.

The area in which the wild boar was found is already known as an infected area and under proper restrictions concerning African swine fever.

This area has been established in accordance with the European Union legislation - Commission Implementing Decision 2014/709/EU. 

The source of the outbreak is still unknown.
