ADM (NYSE: ADM) today announced the addition of two 100% electric heavy goods vehicles (eHGVs) to its fleet for direct flour deliveries from ADM’s processing facility in Corby to customers across the UK. This follows last year’s introduction of electric tractor units in partnership with Voltloader, an innovative logistics and transportation company focused on electrifying HGVs.

“In line with the UK’s Zero Emission HGV and Infrastructure Demonstrator (ZEHID) scheme, this new investment underscores ADM’s commitment to reduce carbon emissions across the food supply chain in order to meet customer needs”, said Ashley Fuller, managing director, ADM Milling UK.

Powered entirely by certified renewable energy (REGOs), the new trucks offer an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional diesel vehicles. The new trucks produce zero emissions during operation and are expected to reduce CO₂ by around 95 tonnes each per year*.

To help support the transition, ADM has installed a high-speed electric vehicle charger at its Corby facility. This on-site charging infrastructure will enable the new electric HGVs to operate efficiently, reducing reliance on third-party charging networks.
