ADM Agriculture supports local farmers with largest grain export from East Anglia this season
ADM Agriculture continues its brisk start to the 2022 harvest export campaign with its largest vessel of the season. MV Mamry will load approximately 27,000t of feed barley from East Anglian farmers destined for customers in southern Spain.
The vessel will take four days to load with barley delivered to ADM Agriculture’s Great Yarmouth port facility. Chris Colley, ADM Agriculture’s barley trader said: “We have had a good harvest in the region this year, with some excellent quality barley and we are delighted to be able to use the global footprint of ADM to support UK farming and our local customers.”
Despite the dry spring, yields have been reasonable this year in the UK and the hot, dry weather during harvest helped farmers gather a better-than-average quality crop with low moistures and high specific weights. “We hope this will help the UK gain access to more markets throughout the EU and North Africa,” Chris said.
