ADAS REsolved Renewables goes on tour, taking energy advice to farmers

ADAS REsolved Renewables is taking to the road to offer bespoke on-farm energy advice to farmers and landowners all over the UK.

The team of specialist energy advisors will hold 10 one-to-one sessions at locations in Wales, the South West, the Midlands, North Yorkshire, the North West and Scotland.

The road show kicks off at the Cardigan Livestock Market on Monday, November 5 and finishes on Tuesday, December 11 at the Sedgemoor Auction Centre in Somerset.

At each clinic, farmers can have their land’s energy potential assessed. The consultants will also be able to offer advice on opportunities for zero risk development partnerships for small scale renewable energy projects.

“The aim of the clinics is to offer landowners considering renewable developments personal advice and information on the different technologies suitable for their land,” said Helen Wyman, ADAS Farm and Renewable Energy Consultant. “This can also include an assessment of the potential return on investment and any regulatory challenges they may face.

“All they need to do is register with us for a free appointment and we can give advice on the range of options available to them, whether they’re just starting to think about renewable energy or are looking for detailed advice on existing plans,” she added.

ADAS REsolved Renewables also offers landowners a risk free opportunity to install renewable energy technology on their farm. For landowners who choose to partner with REsolved Renewables, the consultancy will cover the costs of feasibility studies, planning and installation. Landowners will receive a share of the gross revenue from the project as well as a reduction in their energy bills.

Each site is assessed using the suite of REsolved Renewables’ screening tools which address a number of factors for renewable projects.

“Our screening tools can identify the best available site on farmers’ land and the potential earnings they can expect if they opt for renewable energy. By entering into a partnership with REsolved Renewables it becomes risk free for landowners, as we absorb all of the costs from initial feasibility studies through to connection to the grid,” said Mrs Wyman.

REsolved Renewables advisors will also take into consideration any factors which could affect the viability of a project, including for example, the effect of local vegetation on wind speeds, or in the case of solar energy, sunlight intensity. Advisors will also be able to consult farmers considering anaerobic digestion and offer advice on issues that could affect their plans, including feedstock analysis and planning permission.
