ADAS announces two new Welsh sites

Leading agricultural and environmental consultancy, ADAS has launched two new sites in Wales, confirming its influence within and commitment to the Country.

The two Aberystwyth based sites include an office headquarters, and a research and on-site storage area in addition to the Cardiff based office.

Several of the technical staff have been relocated from ADAS’s previous research facility, Pwllpeiran, following its closure early last month.. They join other colleagues who will continue to deliver environmental and farm advisory services across Wales.

While the main new ADAS office is based at Aberystwyth , the other site is being utilised by scientific support staff, and is located in nearby Llanafan. This site will allow the team to store their vehicles and research equipment on-site and close to ongoing trial work.

This development is based on the business model operated successfully by ADAS in England since 2007 when the company ended its leases on the suite of English research sites owned by Defra.  ADAS says that the research activity it carries out for a variety of clients is delivered more flexibly and profitably if undertaken on suitable commercial farms in collaboration with the host farmers.

Cate Barrow, Group Manager Wales at ADAS said:

‘This is a positive new development for our operations in Wales and brings ADAS closer to its key customers and collaborators.’

These sites are strategically positioned to help us work closely with our clients and the farming community. The facilities provide the operational infrastructure that ADAS needs to continue to deliver its portfolio of advice and research to farmers and to the Government in Wales.
