2,000 pigs saved from Dorset farm fire

2,000 pigs have reportedly been rescued from a fire on a farm in Dorset.

Fire services said the blaze was started late on Thursday when straw bales caught fire next to a barn where the pigs were housed. Eight engines from across the County attended the blaze and fire crews remained at the farm, damping down hotspots until late on Friday afternoon.

Firefighters successfully moved the pigs away from the fire on the farm outside Weymouth. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
