NSA is pleased to bring you a webinar to explain, and help you understand, the current consultation on mandating the Animal Health and Welfare Review in England.

This latest important consultation from Defra opened in February and will close on 18th May 2026. It follows on from the Defra Pathway Animal Health and Welfare Review that had funding committed until June 2027 with the intention always being that the review would likely become mandatory. Defra is considering now legislating to make this annual review visit mandatory.

The consultation asks many questions including what this review visit should contain, and questions over data collection.  Defra is keen to point out that they are in listening mode so do want to hear views from farming organisations and individual farmers.

NSA is encouraging farmers to get their views heard in addition to the NSA responding in our own right. Come and take part in this evening webinar for what will be a lively and informative session with highly experienced speakers.

Joining NSA Chief Executive Phil Stocker will be:

  • Naomi Bull, Defra
  • Phillipa Page, SVS President and specialist sheep vet with Flock Health Ltd
  • Liz Griffiths, sheep farmer

The webinar will include opportunity to ask questions both before and during the event. We look forward to seeing you.
