‘What next for food and farming after Brexit?’ Fringe debates to be held at Party Conferences.

 

The political party conference season is here and the NFU has joined up with the Food and Drink Federation (FDF) for three panel debates over the next month asking: ‘What next for food and farming after Brexit?’

 

All three events are open to the public and journalists are welcome to attend. 

 

Starting today (18 September) at the Liberal Democrat Conference in Bournemouth, NFU Deputy President Minette Batters and FDF Director General Ian Wright CBE will be joined by Rt. Hon Tom Brake MP, Prof. Tim Lang, Centre for Food Policy, City University, and Mike Stones, Editor, Food Manufacture who will chair the debate.

 

At the Labour party conference in Brighton on Monday 25 September, Julia Glotz, Managing Editor, The Grocer, will chair a panel event made up of NFU Vice President Guy Smith, FDF Director General Ian Wright CBE, Sue Hayman MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, and writer and broadcaster Jay Rayner.

 

 

Our fringe events will conclude at the Conservative Party Conference at Manchester Town Hall on Monday 2 October. NFU President Meurig Raymond and FDF Director General Ian Wright CBE will speak alongside Rt. Hon Michael Gove MP, Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, and Richard Clothier, Managing Director, Wyke Farms Ltd. The Grocer’s Julia Glotz will chair the event.
